Neighbors Lobby Dart League
Darts is a universal game with numerous variations played worldwide, with "Cricket" being one of the most common. Whether you're at home or traversing the metaverse, you'll find darts to be a popular game. Neighbors Lobby builds on that popularity by giving players a handicap system to compare their skill level against other players around the world.
Game setup:
The game can be played individually or with multiple players using standard darts and a dartboard.
Game objective:
The goal is to sequentially close numbers 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, and the Bullseye, in that order. Players' scores can range between -10 and +10 points. The best possible score is -10, which represents fewer throws, therefore superior performance.
Pro version player rules solo or with friends (Amateur version requires only 2 successful throws to close a number):
Each player's turn consists of throwing 3 darts. Your first objective is to close the 20’s with three successful throws. It's important to note that the game officially starts only when the 20's are closed. You have as many turns as needed to close the 20’s. Strategy Hint: Aim to start the game with a Triple 20 for a strong opening and best chance of gaining a -1 with your two free darts.
Upon closing the 20's, you must then close your 19’s. You are required to close each number in order before proceeding to the next one. If you fail to close your 19’s with your next 3 darts, your score increases to +1. A failure to close the number in a turn does not carry the successful hits over to the next turn. You must start fresh, attempting to close all 3 19’s with your next turn.
Your score increases by +1 for each turn you fail to close a number, up to a maximum of +10. If at any point a player reaches +10, they get one final turn to close their number or score a -1. Failing to do so results in a final score of +10, plus the number they were last trying to close. For example: 19-10.
If at any time a player closes a number in fewer than three darts, the remaining darts can be used to attempt closing the next number, potentially scoring a -1 if they close the next number with their free dart(s).
Scoring the Bullseye:
The Bullseye operates differently. Successfully scoring a bullseye with your darts carries over to your next turn. For example, if a player scores 4 bullseyes on their first turn, they score a -1. A strategy hint: Score a double bullseye with your first dart and purposely miss with the next two darts. This way, the double bullseye carries over, giving you three more darts to score a single bullseye in the next turn. Each bullseye scored after the player has already closed 3 bullseyes leads to a -1 score.
In a multiplayer game, the player who finishes first receives a -1 bonus to their score, making a perfect score of -10 possible.
Remember, the essence of the game is not just about scoring, but also strategizing how you play each turn to maximize your points. Enjoy the game!
